Street Signage on the Island

The installation of signs indicating new address numbers and street names was completed by May 16th when the new changes took effect.  Each cottage/home on Christian Island will have a post with a new number placed at the end of their driveway.  PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE/MOVE THESE.  Moving these numbers may cause a delay in Emergency response.

Cottagers are responsible for removal of previous numbers attached to their cottage or signs.  A new set of replacement numbers based on the new address may be purchased by cottagers at any store which sells them and attached to your personal signs or cottage.

BFN Emergency Services has already arranged for address changes to your Hydro and Bell Canada accounts.  Each cottager is responsible for advising their insurance company, mortgage holder or any other ie. security or alarm company of the new address change.

Please call or email Doug Rawson if you require your new address prior to going to the Island or experience any problem finding it on the map.

New 911 Civic Address page. Effective Monday May 16, 2011.

This link has also been opened and the information posted on our News to Use/Safety/Security page for your convenience.
